¡Arriba, Guajiro! The art of repentismo and the defense of the Cuban Point, Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, invaded the premises of the Enrique Peña Sánchez House of Culture, in Puerto Padre, through The Poet's Throat event, in which research and the spontaneity of improvisers nuanced the program of activities.
Puerto Padre, Las Tunas.- The colloquium Let's Talk about the Punto delved into the links of the territory throughout history with the complex genre, in addition to the Spanish heritage in artistic creation. Similarly, scholar Gilberto Domínguez Serrano enquired into the various expressions, according to the characteristics of each region. Meanwhile, Gustavo Alonso Curbelo, president of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC), in the Villa Azul (Blue Village), urged reflection on the vulnerabilities of the new generations regarding the rootedness and sense of patriotism.
"The goal was to show that repentismo is done in person, because the stage of the pandemic covid-19 moved the projects to the online spectrum, with greater emphasis on social networks. We put soul, heart, and life into safeguarding the customs of our fields", acknowledged Samuel Martell Pérez, leader of the event.
The participation of interpreters from the municipality harmonized the guateque, while the "Carlos Manuel de Céspedes" library exhibited some books related to the themes of the day.
