Roberto Fournier, writer and deputy director of the Oriente publishing house, recently shared with writers from Las Tunas in the spaces Desde el verso a la estrella (From the verse to the star) and Hojas sueltas (Loose leaves), of the Provincial Committee of Union of Writers and Artists (UNEAC) and the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS), respectively.
Las Tunas, Cuba.- In this context, Fournier shared texts from his most recent book entitled Zona de confort (Comfort Zone), published by the El Mar y la Montaña publishing house last year. The book is made up of free poems, the stanza that best suits his way of saying.
The feelings and images that Guantánamo (his city of origin) provokes in him and that rediscovery of what the city means to him are the fundamental topics of this volume. "I like to talk about social issues, what happens to me as an individual, but also about the environment, my friends, contemporary life in a general sense," he said.
According to the author, his dream is to continue making literature, a profession to share with others. “I always like to come to Las Tunas, because of the friends I have here. I have also met several times with writers and artists from this province in events such as the Day of Political Song, in literary crusades and others. This is a very beautiful moment for the reunion.”
The graduate in Literature and member of the AHS, has also published the poetry book La cantidad rosada (The pink quantity), by La Luz publishing house (2016). His works appear in various selections in Cuba and abroad.
For writers from Las Tunas such as Armando Carralero, Raúl Leyva, Yeinier Aguilera, Saimy K. Torres and other contemporaries, the visit of this young man to the Balcony of Eastern Cuba was an opportunity to share knowledge and draw new discourses on that difficult but beautiful path, which is Literature.
