The data entry process of the Consumer Registry Office (OFICODA) is advancing in the province

The data entry process of the Consumer Registry Office (OFICODA) is advancing in the province at an accelerated pace and is nearing completion in the coming days, thanks to the will of its directors to optimize services and make its procedures easier for families in Las Tunas.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Marilín Jomarón, head of the Directorate of Commerce here, assured 26 that the 12 offices of the provincial capital completed this challenge that began in the country in 2018, which makes it possible for the entity to be inserted into digital platforms. Currently, it has required a redoubled effort from the staff due to intermittent electricity.

The directive pointed out that the rest of the municipalities also work with the commitment that characterizes the entity's workers to reach the goal as soon as possible. Despite the urgency, the process is veiled so that the information is archived with actuality and veracity.

The initiative has the support of specialists from the Computing and Electronics Youth Club in each. The purpose of this project is to enable the 30 offices in Las Tunas to carry out procedures online, through an application for cell phones, as the Ministry of Justice (MINJUS) did with its APP.

The database of the Citizen's Single File, the registry of medical diets of the Public Health Ministry, the registry of sanctioned people of the MINJUS, and the registries of the Direction of Identification, Immigration, and Foreigners are the repositories of data that are linked with the digital registration of offices and complement their procedures.

Computerizing the data will make it possible to better update the compiled statistics, reduce the cost of paper at a time when this resource is scarce, and facilitate the work of the staff, who for years has dealt with large volumes of information regarding the distribution of food to Cuban families.

The OFICODA was created in 1963 and has been in charge of updating and maintaining the records about the supply card, as well as medical diets, registrations, and cancellations, and have been the setting for providing consumers or suppliers with the required information for the distribution of different types of resources for the basic basket.
