Housing construction in Cuba continues to be a priority. Therefore, in the midst of the intensification of the United States' blockade of the Island and the effects of COVID-19 and as part of the policy designed in Cuba, the granting of subsidies to people with less economic income is prioritized.
"Amancio", Las Tunas.- From 2012 to date, this policy shows satisfactory results in the municipality, as explained by Eddy Hernández Padrón, coordinator of Programs and Objectives in the town.
"To date, in 'Amancio,' 418 subsidies have been granted; 244 correspond to basic housing cells and 130 to major and minor conservation. At this time, 374 have been completed with an amount of 19 million 700 thousand pesos".
The sales made in the supply store are an indicator that guarantees to finance for granting subsidies. On the services of that entity, the manager clarified.
"In the store, the resources that generate the most income are cement, aggregates and steel accessories. The entry of these has been quite limited in recent months, if we take into account that the priority is the subsidy. For that reason, services are restricted as a consequence of the complex situation facing the country."
The amount to allocate subsidies to those who need them depends on the timely and constant input of materials to the store, as well as on local productions. A program that in "Amancio" does not stop and advances with everyone's participation.
