The improvement of gastronomy and the implementation of a new management model is advancing

A total of 26 restaurants in Las Tunas, El Taíno cabaret, and Los Laureles motel have become base business units (UEB, for its acronym in Spanish), in correspondence with their insertion in the improvement of gastronomy and the implementation of a new management model, which provide greater autonomy to the directors to promote efficiency and productivity increase.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Dalgys Inés Pupo Hernández, acting director of Gastronomy of the Business Group of Commerce commented to 26 that all the units that have joined the improvement pursue the goal of moving towards the best development of their networks, from the precepts of self-management and the search for contracts with suppliers inside and outside the territory, which allow them to guarantee their customers a stable and diverse service.

"Despite the epidemiological situation and the adjustments that the gastronomy has undergone to avoid the proliferation of the epidemic, we can assure that the UEBs have made progress and their directors have been engaged in complying with the expectations posed by self-management", pointed out the directive.

She also emphasized that 20 of them already have a magnetic card and 16 have a QR code to be able to insert themselves in electronic commerce; they are only waiting for all their suppliers to join the virtual platforms.

Inés Pupo reiterated that the 28 facilities maintain their state status, but those in charge are empowered to operate bank accounts and have already signed contracts with the main suppliers such as Dairy Products Company, Meat Products Company, and the Wholesale Markets Network, among others.

Other units are expected to join the improvement process in June. This process is closely linked to the economic order in the country and aims to achieve a greater organization of the gastronomy network.
