The cattle located in low-lying areas is being moved to safe places

In the face of the heavy rains and strong winds that are forecast here due to the passing of the Elsa meteorological event, specialists and managers of Agriculture work quickly to prevent its impact on livestock.

While taking advantage of the current weather conditions, as it not yet raining, another large number of horses are transferred to higher places, and the manager confirmed the guarantee of water and food for all.

Hechavarría Lozada también dijo que tienen especial cuidado con las especies avícolas, que han sido cubiertas con mantas para evitar los daños causados por los vientos y las lluvias. En los centros porcinos también se protegen las áreas de lechones y de maternidad.

Referring to beekeeping, the sub-delegate reported that arduous work is being carried out with various apiaries located in low places, especially in nearby areas to the coastline, as part of the transhumance process of this stage in search of the mangrove and the Baccharis orientalis (romerillo de costa) flowers.

He highlighted "that all command posts in the agricultural sector are already active to follow up each of these actions, with defined tasks to be carried out in the next few hours."

Likewise, he called to be aware of the indications of the Civil Defense and the forecast of the Institute of Meteorology to know the possible trajectory of “Elsa,” which will hit the territory during this weekend.
