The new Family Code is subjected to a popular referendum

The voting exercise for the referendum on the new Family Code will be held this Sunday 18, from 7:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., as a prelude to what will happen next September 25, when finalizes the first call for the popular vote of a Law after the approval of the Cuban Constitution.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Marta Rodríguez Martínez, president of the Electoral Council in the province, told 26 that “a broad movement has been carried out to create all the conditions in the 1,266 polling stations. Likewise, the necessary precisions of the insurance plans were made to guarantee the means of communication, transportation, food, and other resources necessary for the drill.

This appointment will constitute a training exercise not only on the information system but, also, on the role that corresponds to the electoral officials at the time of counting the votes and filling out the documentation.

The presence of a tabloid with the Code in each location is a first-order task, in case someone wishes to clarify doubts or consult any of the articles that generate the greatest uncertainty.

“The territory has five special voting stations; two of them at the Ernesto Guevara Hospital, one in the Pediatric Hospital, another in the Guillermo Domínguez Hospital (Puerto Padre), and in the Railway Terminal of the provincial capital. Citizens who are outside their place of residence or passing through the territory can vote there, " Rodríguez Martínez explained.

In the case of the National Bus Terminal, travelers are expected to exercise their rights at the Vado del Yeso and El Vaquerito semi-boarding schools, located nearby.

Besides, some 63 families decided to provide their homes to be used as polling stations in support of the country in carrying out suffrage.
