Sugar Harvest Begins in Las Tunas

Las Tunas became the second province of the country to start up the sugar harvest 2018-2019, as sugarcane cuttings began on Thursday afternoon in areas of the Majibacoa sugar mill.

More than 383,000 inhabitants of this province of eastern Cuba participated in the popular consultation of the Draft Constitution of the Republic of Cuba that officially ended here on November 2nd.

José Ramón Machado Ventura, second secretary of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party, appealed to the conscience of the sugar producers to put all their effort and energy into the efficient fulfillment of the 2018-2019 - next to start - and sugarcane recovery, in faced of the complex scenario in which the national economy develops.
