The Construction and Assembly Company, ConAlza Las Tunas, has once again raised the Banner of Labor Prowess, an achievement built on the sweat of its workers, their will, and dedication. This effort has now reached monumental proportions in its support of the recovery of mountain roads in the provinces of Santiago de Cuba and Granma, devastated by Hurricane Melissa's relentless passage on October 29th.
To coincide with the Construction Worker's Day, engineer Maikel Brito Peña, the company’s director general, announced on Facebook: “The construction workers of ConAlza -Construction and Assembly Company of Las Tunas- turn problems into solutions. Today, December 5th, the Babujal section of the road to Granma in Guamá, Santiago de Cuba, is now passable.”
In that area, a brigade from this organization has been working for several weeks now, and their success is a testament to the White Helmets Army of Las Tunas' commitment to the complete rehabilitation of the devastation caused by the hurricane in those eastern Cuban territories.
Meanwhile, in Las Tunas, accompanied by Osmel Lorenzo Rodríguez, First Secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC); Juana Yamilka Viñals Suárez, Vice Governor; and Odalis Batista Pérez, Secretary General of the Central Union of Cuban Workers (CTC), among other leaders, the builders celebrated their day at the 220 kV Substation photovoltaic solar park, where they constitute the main workforce.

They paused their arduous daily work to acknowledge efforts and achievements, as well as to reaffirm their commitment to the legacy of the undefeated Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro, Historical Leader of the Revolution, and demonstrate their willingness to continue building the future of the nation, even in the face of current challenges imposed by shortages that limit their actions.
As part of the tribute, 10 workers from different entities were awarded the Armando Mestre Medal, which honors the memory of a distinguished Cuban revolutionary, martyr of this sector, who embodies the values of perseverance, sacrifice, and commitment to the work of the Revolution.
Likewise, the best workers, young people, and members of the National Association of Innovators and Rationalizers (ANIR) with outstanding performance and significant contributions were recognized, as were several outstanding companies and the sector's main investors: the Electric Company, the Delegation of Hydraulic Resources, and the National Road Center. The ConAlza Construction and Assembly Company was awarded the most comprehensive.

In her keynote address, Yanet Campos Hernández, secretary general of the Provincial Bureau of the Construction Workers' Union, recalled: “Fidel taught us that building is much more than erecting walls and putting up roofs. Building is an act of faith in the future, of love for our fellow human beings, and the purest revolutionary act (...).”
“That legacy, she emphasized, is not a mere memory. It is a flame that remains alive in the calloused hands and noble hearts of our workers. And in these difficult times, that legacy has taken on exemplary life in the attitude with which you, the Las Tunas construction workers, face current challenges and overcome.”
