National Defense Day held in Las Tunas.

Major General Eugenio Armando Rabilero Aguilera, head of the Eastern Army, oversaw the National Defense Day activities in Las Tunas on Friday and visited training areas in the municipalities of Majibacoa and Las Tunas.

Las Tunas, Cuba.– Accompanied by commanders from the Eastern Army and the Military Region, Osbel Lorenzo Rodríguez, president of the Provincial Defense Council, and other political leaders and governmental officials, Rabilero Aguilera evaluated the actions of the staff of a Territorial Troops Militia battalion and a Defense Zone in Calixto, Majibacoa municipality, in the event of aggression.

National Defense Day held in Las Tunas.In dialogue with the participants, Rabilero Aguilera emphasized the role of the Defense Zones and the imperative that the inhabitants of each area know, down to the last detail, the place they should occupy in the event of an invasion, and the plans devised to confront and defeat it. As part of the day's activities, a rifle brigade conducted a practical demonstration of its capabilities against drone attacks.

The head of the Eastern Army toured the firing range at the Lenin campus of the University of Las Tunas (ULT), which hosted the main activities of National Defense Day. He praised the large turnout, discipline, order, and responsibility demonstrated on the field.

He also highlighted the active participation of university students. After the commendation, the Major General indicated that these exercises would continue to be improved, and emphasized the learning and training they could receive as sources of motivation.

Members of the Special Unit of the Territorial Division of the Cuban Telecommunications Company (ETECSA), students and professors from higher education centers in Las Tunas, reservists, officers, and militiamen from the Los Pinos Defense Zone gathered at the school grounds. The training area became a classroom where specialists from different fields taught general subjects related to the sacred duty of safeguarding the Homeland against imperialist hegemonic ambitions.

In all Las Tunas municipalities, theoretical and practical activities were carried out to enhance the defensive capacity of the troops and the population, as protagonists in the doctrine of All People's War, designed by Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro, Historical Leader of the Cuban Revolution, whose legacy serves as a compass for confronting and defeating the interventionist escalation of the current U.S. administration.
