The Las Tunas Pioneers Conference delegation met with the province's top authorities.

Osbel Lorenzo Rodríguez, first secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC) in Las Tunas, held an instructive meeting with the delegation attending the 64th Anniversary National Conference of the José Martí Pioneers Organization (OPJM), which will meet in Havana on June 14.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- With the frankness, spontaneity, and freshness of their age, the children expressed opinions that denote natural wisdom and confidence in the future of the homeland, which will rest on their shoulders.

The little ones proposed encouraging in-person exposure to local and other territories' history as a way to promote love for the homeland and experience the legacy of heroes and martyrs firsthand, because their lives inspire new generations.

Lorenzo Rodríguez pondered the ideas presented and instructed the Education officials present at the meeting to create the conditions that will meet those expectations, "because the future is in your hands, and our history of rebellion, struggle, and faith in victory is the foundation for defending the Revolution," he told them.

The party leader, using language appropriate to the age of his interlocutors, spoke to them about the difficult situation the country is facing, the efforts to mitigate its impact on the people, and explained how, despite the current shortcomings, the province is working hard and constantly to achieve transformations for social benefit.

He described the actions underway, for example, in the areas of the Amusement Park, the Zoo, El Cornito Farm, and the Theme Park, emblematic places in the city, where conditions are being improved ahead of the summer vacation period, to add them as recreational venues for families.

He also explained about other efforts to transform communities like El Diamante, where, with the intervention of various organizations and the inhabitants, changes are already evident, among other examples of the PCC and the government's interest in facing challenges and moving forward.

Lorenzo Rodríguez spoke about the construction of the Nueva Línea photovoltaic park, already interconnected to the National Electric Power System, and others under construction, which will alleviate the annoying blackouts.

He encouraged them to study History extensively and prepare themselves as good professionals in their chosen fields, as well as to safeguard their educational resources, and continue contributing to the defense of the nation with their participation.

The Las Tunas delegation is made up of 16 pioneers, who represent the strength of the new generation. Also speaking with them were Yelenis Tornet Menéndez, governor of the province; Milena Pérez Correoso, first secretary of the UJC (Youth Communist League); and Nílser Piñeda Cruz, director general of Education in Las Tunas.

On Tuesday, after touring sites of historical, cultural, and economic interest, they received the flag they will take to Havana, where the important meeting will take place.
