US and Venezuelan citizens would travel between the two nations with full security guarantees.

Following a telephone conversation between the Acting President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, and her US counterpart, Donald Trump, it was confirmed this Thursday, January 29, that commercial airspace over Venezuela will be reopened immediately.

During a Cabinet meeting at the White House, the US president stated he expects the measure to be effective by the end of the day, allowing both US and Venezuelan citizens to travel between the two nations with full security guarantees.

"I informed her that we would open the airspace; very soon, citizens will be able to travel to Venezuela safely, and some Venezuelans who wish to return will be able to do so," declared Trump, who highlighted the strengthening of diplomatic ties between both administrations.

The US head of state described the relationship with Venezuela's current leadership as "very solid," thanking his counterpart for his willingness to reach this agreement, which will normalize commercial air transit in the region.

This announcement marks a milestone in the bilateral agenda, prioritizing connectivity and citizen mobility under a framework of cooperation. Recently, Acting President Delcy Rodríguez emphasized that, within the framework of respect and diplomacy, various bilateral matters will be addressed to ensure peace and social well-being for both peoples.

Through diplomatic dialogue, they reaffirm an understanding that will benefit Venezuelan and US citizens, who would travel directly and safely, paving the way for a new stage of exchange and stability in international aeronautical operations. (CubaSí)
