Disinfection in the area of the Buena Vista Tank

With the information reported this Sunday, there are 28 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Las Tunas province, since the first was detected last March.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- The Provincial Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Microbiology, through its director, Dr. Diego Álvarez Dopazo, specified that he is a 36-year-old citizen, resident in the Health area of the Gustavo Aldereguía polyclinic, from the municipality of Las Tunas.

The young man, Álvarez Dopazo stressed, is the husband of one of the patients confirmed on August 27 and was detected as part of the control actions of the family outbreak originating in that part of the provincial capital; he had been isolated since August 20. Around him, 33 contacts are kept under surveillance. The rest of the Las Tunas inhabitants diagnosed with the disease in recent weeks, he added, evolve without complications.
This case reaffirms August as the month of the COVID-19 rebound also in Las Tunas since - to date - ten autochthonous cases have already been detected, a figure slightly exceeded by that of April.

Yesterday, Dr. Viviana Gutiérrez Rodríguez, provincial director of Health, commented that the actions of active inquiry and epidemiological surveillance continue in several blocks assigned to doctor’s offices 5, 7 and 8, of the Health area of the Gustavo Aldereguía polyclinic.
