Virtual stores had certainly not lived up to the minimum demands of consumers

The definitive version of MiAlerta is now available, a mobile application that allows knowing in real-time which products appear in Cuban virtual stores, including the only one existing in this eastern Cuban province.

MiAlerta app LasTunasLas Tunas, Cuba.- Downloadable from Apklis, the Cuban portal for mobile applications, in MiAlerta, users can select within TuEnvío and activate the corresponding categories of products of their interest and then receive notifications when they are accessible.

“The update time is also configurable, ranging from 15 minutes to 24 hours. This is because there are virtual stores (Pedregal) that change combos regularly. Unlike others, such as the one in Pinar del Río, where you could configure alerts once a day to save data,” explained the specialized computer portal Canal USB.

Users can also choose whether or not to download product images and save kilobits if you are browsing the mobile data network. MiAlerta will soon add the option to follow the status of the purchase made.

Executives from the Cimex and Caribe chain stores has recently admitted that virtual stores had certainly not lived up to the minimum demands of consumers, precisely when they were most necessary to facilitate the supply of basic necessities, given the national strategy to maintain physical distance and thus prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.

“We have to admit that we were not prepared. We were not able to foresee the growth that demand would have from the measures proposed and approved on April 9 to face the COVID-19. Furthermore, the organization of the processes and the trained personnel required do not comply with these conditions,” Héctor Oroza Busutil, president of the Cimex Corporation, said.

However, he assured that these establishments would not be closed, but that they would apply a group of measures aimed at improving. He mentioned, for example, that they would improve automated billing, inventory, ordering, route organization and communication with customers, among others. He also commented on the transfer of electronic commerce management from stores to warehouses in each territory, in order to expand work capacity, inventory management and the organization of processes, with an increase in the required cubic meters, which currently are not enough.

In Las Tunas, these steps have already been noted with the designation of "Primero de mayo", in the provincial capital, as the exclusive unit to manage the delivery of orders made from the Cimex virtual store for this territory. However, even taking into account the economic hardships that Cuba is suffering now, the quantity and quality of the offers seen here is less than that existing in other areas of the nation.
