Baptist believers meet in a small family services

Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz, at La Mesa Redonda TV program, held a few days ago, asked religious institutions and the Cuban believers, in general, to take into account the measures adopted by the Government in order to avoid crowds, since a considerable number of people meet at several moments of worship in the temples.

Reverend José Andrés la Hera Castillo, president of the missionary district of Las Tunas of the Baptist Convention of Eastern Cuba Las Tunas, Cuba - Reverend José Andrés La Hera Castillo, president of the missionary district of Las Tunas of the Baptist Convention of Eastern Cuba (CBCOr by its Spanish acronym), told 26Digital that the Work he represents in this province supports the authorities' measures to prevent, as far as possible, an increase in infection, given the presence in the country of SARS-CoV-2, the cause of COVID-19.

While these regulations are in force, no services will be held in the temples or usual meeting in churches and missions, nor will visits and other activities inherent in the preaching of the Gospel be carried out. Members and visitors of congregations shall only hold family services for praying and sharing God's Word.

These meetings in their own homes, with the maintenance of hygienic and sanitary measures, will also allow us to strengthen the spiritual life of each believer, show the family members the love of God, and transmit a message of faith, of encouragement; and of course, pray for them, for the community, for our country and for all nations," said La Hera via telephone.

Pastors and a member of the leadership will remain in the temples, if necessary, to attend to any need. We have called on our elders and the entire Baptist community to be an example of discipline because God calls us to abide by ordinances and laws, He is a God of order.

Similar provisions have been taken up by several Christian denominations and other faiths. During these days, pastors, leaders, and believers have shared through social networks the need to be prudent, disciplined, and stay indoors as much as possible; and also how to develop a family service and other messages of edification and encouragement.
