Cadres from Las Tunas signed their Ethics Code.Las Tunas, Cuba.- In the provincial capital, the signing of the document took place at the Major General Vicente García Revolution Plaza. The member of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC) and first secretary in the province, Manuel René Pérez Gallego, and the deputy to the Cuban Parliament and governor, Jaime Ernesto Chiang Vega, led the important event, 129 years after the restart of the fight for the island's independence, and as a sign of reaffirmation that the only commitment is and will be with the people, as stated Army General Raúl Castro.

At the conclusion of the solemn ceremony, in statements to the press, Pérez Gallego said that it is a transcendental moment of commitment to the people as public servants, and for everyone it is an act of reaffirmation of the principles and motivations on how to act creatively; as well as ethics based on the thoughts and teachings of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, much more so in the difficult stage we are experiencing when ideological firmness is vital to move forward.

For his part, Chiang Vega expressed that the fundamental thing about the Code is to interpret its precepts from the principles and ethics in the actions of the cadres. “In this regard, it is up to us to bond more closely with the people, be aware of their needs, always speak the truth and, of course, honor that permanent bond that Revolution and ethics have had throughout history.”

The Code of Ethics of the Revolution Cadres highlights fundamental values such as patriotism, anti-imperialism, fidelity, honesty, honor, discipline, and altruism and is implemented in all spheres of the State and the Government.

Its precepts strengthen the implementation of the Cadre’s Policy Strategy approved in the Eighth Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba, for the proper exercise of the functions and powers of each position.
