The teams from Las Tunas and Manatí will dispute the title of the Las Tunas Provincial Baseball Series, after winning their respective semifinals on Thursday against "Colombia" and Jobabo.

Las Tunas, Cuba.-Those from the capital municipality resolved their match against the Colombian squad in just two games. After the initial 2-1 victory over the weekend, as visitors, the team led by Roberto Lemus completed the work at home with a 3-1 score and a decisive home run by Ernesto Felipe Lalana.

About 50 kilometers to the north, in the Roque Ríos Stadium, Manatí took a double triumph that allowed its player to come back against Jobabo. The Tren del Sur (Southern Train) had won the initial duel 2-1 but, this time, its line-up could do little against the rival pitching, a key player in the 7-1 and 2-1 victories.

After these results, the two best-placed teams in the regular phase will define the Las Tunas baseball champion. The Manatí players, with a couple of crowns in recent years, and Las Tunas’ holders of multiple titles make them the top winners in provincial tournaments.

The final of the Provincial Baseball Series 2022 will crown the best team in a three-game match; which could begin this Saturday at the "Roque Ríos," in Manatí.
