The CIRUTUNAS 2022 Provincial Scientific Conference on General Surgery takes place at Dr. Ernesto Guevara de la Serna General Teaching Hospital, the main health institution in Las Tunas, until September 30.

Las Tunas Cuba.- The event includes the debate on research, a meeting of knowledge between residents of this specialty, and the exchange of members and founders of the Chapter of Surgery, founded in the territory in 1988.

“Pedagogical reflections on the resident's training process,” “Radiological management of incidentalomas in the abdomen,” and “Accelerated recovery protocols after surgery” are among the topics of the master conferences included in the program.

CIRUTUNAS 2022 allows surgeons and doctors to carry out educational activities in which they put into practice their knowledge of surgical cancer treatment, besides working on commissions and scientific research exhibitions.

The participants will also discuss the strategies and efforts to comply with the Hospital surgical plan, despite the lack of resources, with priority for cancer patients, as well as medical emergencies and trauma.

The closing ceremony will take place on the morning of the last day of the scientific program, with the participation of members of the Cuban Society of Surgery, which in Las Tunas has more than 40 members. This will be followed by the Student Scientific Conference of the University of Medical Sciences, to be held at the beginning of October.
