Committees for the Defense of the Revolution celebrates 62nd anniversary

The 62nd anniversary of the largest mass organization in the country, the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR), guarantors and defenders of the conquests of the people, is approaching.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- For the 2022 celebrations, its directors confirmed that the activities return to the neighborhoods, something that has not happened for two years as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We resume our activities with the participation of the entire membership and recognition in the neighborhoods. We hope that there will be greater popular incorporation”, 26 Eddys Xander Sánchez Concepción, the provincial coordinator, says.

“We began the celebrations in August, on the date of the birthday of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, the realization of blood donations and talks related to his life and revolutionary work.

“We are supporting food production through the "Cultiva tu Pedacito" program (Cultivate your Plot). We thank the new patios that are incorporated, the producers, and the families; all who support food sustainability, as well as the cleaning and beautification of the blocks.”

Revolutionary popular surveillance is the founding mission of the organization, which means that amid complex circumstances, efforts are redoubled to maintain the protection of our neighborhoods and the main institutions located there.

“Radio Victoria and the educational center Mártires del 28 de Diciembre deserved the Premio del Barro (Neighborhood Award). Decorations have been awarded to CDR members and outstanding structures that receive the 28 de Septiembre Distinction and the Medal for the Defense of the Neighborhood.
