The road that connects the municipalities of Colombia and Amancio -in Las Tunas- with Guáimaro -in the province of Camagüey- will recover its vitality in the coming weeks, when the first stage of an extensive construction process concludes.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- The necessary repair of the track is an old wish of those who travel toward these sites and is developed with the financing of more than three million pesos, amid of the difficult economic situation that Cuba is going through.

For approximately 40 days, some twenty heavy equipment will work, which will not be the definitive solution, but the mission of the Las Tunas Construction and Assembly company is to promote road circulation.

According to Orlando Arias Pérez, the director of the entity, the sections in the worst condition will remain in embankment conditions because there is currently not enough asphalt available, due to the energy situation in the country.

The manager explained that the other segment of the road will be patched and cold asphalt will be used in this activity. Also, work will be done to improve walkways and ditches, to minimize the effect of rain.

The recovery of the road favors the economic and social development of the southern zone of the Las Tunas territory, with two sugar mills, a port, a fishing establishment, and a shrimp farming station, among other entities.

In addition, when the work is completed, the benefit will be notable for the population residing in the surroundings, whose approaches were repeated in different processes of accountability of the delegate to his constituents.
