The Communal Services Company in Las Tunas is undertaking the construction of the province's cremation oven, which will have two capacities, one for bodies and the other for the reduction of remains after exhumation.
Las Tunas, Cuba.- Mariano Barrera Aguilera, deputy director of Investments of the entity, told the Cuban News Agency that the equipment for the cremation of the remains is already in the territory, and the service will be provided at the request of the relatives.
The cremation oven project was carried out by Crever Design and Engineering Company and is executed by the Government's Construction Maintenance entity in the province.
In anticipation of the possible demand for the service, a second space was included for the location of another cremation equipment in the future, to avoid having to transform the premises at that time, the manager underlined.
Currently, to use the cremation services, the people of Las Tunas must move to neighboring provinces, such as Holguín, Camagüey or Santiago de Cuba, depending on their availability, he said, and the procedures for the process are carried out through the funeral home of the municipality of the deceased.
By the first months of 2022, Las Tunas cremation oven must be completed, said the deputy director of investments in community services.
