More than 10 thousand taxpayers' licenses were temporarily suspended in Las Tunas by the National Office of Tax Administration (ONAT), as their activities were affected by the incidence of the Covid-19 in the province.

Onelia Vargas Tamayo, head of the Taxpayer Service Department in the territory, explained to the Cuban News Agency that until June, a little more than one million two thousand 700 pesos were not collected, because 24 percent of the self-employed workers had a break in their activities and in the corresponding payments.

The specialist said that, after their reinstatement, these taxpayers will be exempted from paying the monthly personal income tax or the consolidated accounts of the simplified system corresponding to the month in which their reinstatement occurs, and will pay it from the following month.

Another benefit of the ONAT for the payment of taxes and affidavits is the five percent discount for those who pay within the first 60 calendar days after the province enters the second phase of the post-COVID 19 recovery stage.

Although members have 180 days for settlement, those who do it in the first two months, from July 3, when the second phase began in the territory, will get the discount that will be effective at the time of payment.

Once the period of 180 days for the payment of the tax and the sworn statements has elapsed, the ONAT will proceed to determine the debts to the taxpayers who did not exercise the payment and will manage the collection of the debts, said Vargas Tamayo.

The ONAT in Las Tunas will be able to cover the contributions by using digital channels such as the Transfermobile application, the postal service and the mailboxes located in the entity's premises, said the head of the Taxpayer Service Department.
