Kites Festival in Las Tunas.

Love for the homeland, cultivated in the classrooms, finds its highest expression in the José Martí Pioneer Organization (OPJM), a fundamental pillar of the Revolution's work that for 65 years has shaped the character of our children and youth.

Las Tunas, Cuba.– In a joyful atmosphere, boys and girls gathered in the Major General Vicente García González Revolution Plaza to raise their voices and dreams in a festival where colors and creativity blended with the defense of the most just causes.

Maité Escobar Rivera, a member of the Bureau of the Youth Communist League in the province and president of the OPJM, explained that "We have planned a series of activities to be carried out throughout the province, in municipalities, with Pioneer collectives and detachments, as well as in communities, plazas, and parks. This March 31st, we held the festival Kites for Peace, Raising Hope and Fighting against the Blockade."

The event was structured around thematic areas designed for learning and recreation. In one, attendees were introduced to the world of air sports, with demonstrations of paragliding and parachuting, as well as discussions and presentations by specialized interest groups.

Another area fostered a moving exchange between Pioneers and combatants of the Cuban Revolution, and also included demonstrations by the Pioneer Explorer Movement, and discussions on animal and pet care.

The creativity and sensitivity of the youngest participants took center stage in the third area. There, the children participated in drawing contests with deeply meaningful themes, such as "My Palestinian Friend" and "Fidel Among Us," demonstrating that solidarity and historical legacy continue being relevant to new generations.

The festival concluded with the "Together for Cuba" event, which hosted an exhibition of the artwork created by the children in the Plaza.
