The plant is designed to process three cubic meters of water per hour

After a lengthy process, marked by delays in the completion of investments, the terrible lapse of covid-19, and also technological ignorance, the system of the desalination plant located in the neighborhood of El 12 in the municipality of Jobabo is now calibrated and tested.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- This was announced by the Empresa de Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Las Tunas (Las Tunas Aqueduct and Sewage Company) on its Facebook profile. The engineering director, Juan Carlos Iznaga, informed 26 other details.

"The plant is designed to process three cubic meters of water per hour; and it was decided that its installation would be there, in that well of 12, because it is one of the sources of supply with the highest salinity in the entire province."

"The intention is to establish two points of sale of the desalinated liquid. One of them at the plant itself and the other in the area of La Punta, in the municipal capital of Jobabo."

"Of course, the traditional pumping system established so far for the entire municipality will be maintained."
The executive highlighted the work of the young Havana-based Acuanova S.A. Water Treatment Plants Company, which undertook the installation of the modern plant, with a digital and fully automatic system.

It is now time to define the start-up date and, before that, to establish the cost sheets and other details, which hopefully will not take too long. There has already been an enormous delay - about four years - since the civil works were completed. A time that invites to give a coat of paint, and even maintenance to some equipment, before the start-up.
