Las Tunas workers will celebrate May Day with a wide program of activities.

Because May Day is a date that summons, these April days, the unions that make up the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba (Cuban Workers' Federation) promote productive goals in all sectors and hold rallies to honor the anniversary of the world's proletarians.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- The motto "We create together for Cuba” summarizes the daily dedication of Cuban workers in the face of the challenges imposed by the tightening of the United States blockade, and its content illustrates their way of defending the social system chosen by the majority of the people.

Mailín Mir Corrales, a member of the Secretariat of the labor organization in the province, emphasized, in a press conference, that in contrast to events in other countries of the world, in Cuba May Day is a date that encourages the working class, who in the run-up to the celebration expresses, in different ways, its commitment to the defense of the Revolution and develops numerous activities that demonstrate it.

The workers, he confirmed, are protagonists in the daily battle to defend the right to sovereignty and national independence. She confirmed that union organizations promote the achievement of higher productive commitments in their respective sectors, which must correspond to the real possibilities of increasing the production of goods and services and, accordingly the available resources. They also conceive the stimulation of those with the best results.

Mir Corrales explained that artistic galas, sports activities, poster festivals, and collective and individual recognition events for the most outstanding are organized in the eight municipalities. An event is planned for the delivery of honorary titles and decorations.

The program also provides tours and meetings of local Labor Heroes of the Republic of Cuba with members of different groups, tributes to combatants of Playa Girón and other battles in defense of independence, and solidarity support to the liberation of brother peoples.

The leader also asserted that the initiatives are not stopped and her confidence that this May Day, the plazas, cities, and towns throughout Cuba will dress in their best clothes to expressing the unity of Cubans around the Revolution and its main leaders."It will be a celebration of the people: the workers and their families," she claimed.
