
With the participation of political and educational authorities, and representatives of youth organizations, Las Tunas held the provincial event for April 4th this Wednesday, a date of profound significance for Cuban children and youth, commemorating the 65th birthday of the José Martí Pioneers Organization (OPJM) and 64th of the Youth Communist League (UJC).
Las Tunas, Cuba.– The ceremony took place at the Julián Santana Santana semi- boarding school in this city, where pioneers, teachers, and family members participated in a day filled with symbolism, patriotism, and recognition of the role of the new generations in the continuation of the Revolution.
During the event, municipalities and schools with outstanding results in the organization's activities were recognized, including Las Tunas and Jobabo. Also, outstanding pioneers in their studies, participation, and involvement in the OPJM (José Martí Pioneer Organization) received the 65 Aniversario Distinction, along with teachers and guides distinguished for their teaching and training work.
Similarly, pioneer collectives with excellent results were recognized, including the Julián Santana semi-boarding school, the Luis Augusto Turcios Lima Special Education Center, and the Máximo Gómez Báez junior high school.

In her keynote address, the provincial president of the José Martí Pioneer Organization, Maité Escobar Rivero, highlighted the organization's role as a school of values, responsibility, and commitment to the nation, while also emphasizing the leading role of the pioneers from Las Tunas in social, educational, and community activities.
The celebration concluded with an artistic presentation by the children's project Raíces de San José, showcasing the talent and creativity of the new generations, the protagonists of a day that, more than a commemoration, reaffirms the continuity of the Cuban social project from childhood and youth.
Osbel Lorenzo Rodríguez, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) in the province, Yelenys Tornet Menéndez, Governor, as well as directors of the educational system and representatives of mass organizations, attended the act.
