There are plenty of reasons why the 126 members of the Omar Pérez Pérez Credit and Services Cooperative (CCS), from the municipality of Las Tunas, feel very stimulated in their work since the approval of the 63 measures to benefit food production.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- The development of livestock and fruit trees has generated that, in only three months, the prosperity of this productive base is remarkable, with the income of more than 10,000 pesos in Freely Convertible Currency (MLC), which has made possible the acquisition of inputs to continue advancing.

Aldo Rodríguez Prieto, president of this CCS, explained to the Cuban News Agency that - with these revenues - they have purchase tires for tractors and wagons, hygienic materials for work in the mini-industry, and an electric tricycle that is used in-home service.

"When the slaughter of cattle was approved, after having complied with the delivery of milk and meat, without reducing the herds, we donated a part of the slaughtered young bull to the pediatric hospital and isolation centers established to face the COVID-19, and the rest was sold in the community and at one point in the city of Las Tunas, the peasant leader said.

Of the income in MLC, the cooperative also donated a part to the State, Rodríguez Prieto said, and assured that with the evident motivation of the cooperative members, the CCS will continue to march towards prosperity.

The measures approved last April for the agricultural sector have been very beneficial, especially those related to the lowering of electricity and water rates; as well as the prices of national feed and bioproducts.
