The structures of the Provincial Defense Council of Las Tunas directed their work towards the process of achieving full combat readiness in a non-conventional war scenario, during the territorial defense day.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- In the area 05-31-10 of the community of Jobabito, in the main municipality, the central activities of the province were developed, which were aimed at achieving greater cohesion in the functioning of the bodies of direction and command of the different work groups.

The president of the Provincial Defense Council, Wálter Simón Noris, arrived at that settlement of more than two thousand inhabitants to participate in all the activities carried out and spoke with the population about the economic and social situation of the province and the country and the urgent need to produce more food for the people.

He said that in the unconventional war imposed by the United States government, we must continue developing the territory, and one of the nation's prioritized tasks is food production, so the priority is to plant and produce higher volumes of products to satisfy the demand of the people.

When referring to the Jobabito zone, which covers a large area of land, the President of the Provincial Defense Council pointed out that it is in the countryside where food is produced to satisfy own needs, and those of the neighbors, and contribute to the capital of the province and others. territories, because there are lands and men. The mission is to increase the amount of viands, vegetables, milk, and meat.

“And in this battle for production and guaranteeing the tranquility of the people, the defense zones play an essential role. “We do not have to wait for a specific event to be established because their work is constant and together with the local work groups, they must guarantee the full development of the communities," he assured.

Throughout the day, the training was also directed toward the cohesion of the work in the defensive organization during the crisis period, with actions against the systematic attrition of the enemy. The regular units of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, together with the boards of directors of companies and entities, carried out exercises to establish full combat readiness, shooting practices, deconcentration, and evacuation of resources.
