Leñadores' flagging ceremony

The flag ceremony of Las Tunas team to the 60th National Baseball Series was held Thursday at its home, the Julio Antonio Mella Stadium, a season dedicated to the six decades of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution and the Federation of Cuban Women.

The accumulation of water in the area of the right field more than once hindered the celebration of baseball games

The sports facilities of Las Tunas did not suffer any damage after the passage through this territory of Tropical Storm Laura, despite the strong gusts of wind that at times hit different parts of the province geography.

Lumberjacks go for their second title

The Leñadores (Lumberjaks) from Las Tunas will go for their second Cuban title, backed by the three consecutive podiums they accumulate in the National Baseball Series, and by the hand of star figures such as Dánel Castro, the Yosvani and Yordanis Alarcón brothers, besides the pitchers Carlos Juan Viera, Yudiel Rodríguez and Yoalkis Cruz.

Pitcher Alejandro Meneses

In the midst of all the feverish hustle and bustle that the Julio Antonio Mella Stadium is experiencing right now with the training of the Leñadores (Lumberjacks), pitcher Alejandro Meneses is perhaps the happiest of all, after an injury to his pitching arm forced him to stop two long years.
