Cuba is honored to host the Third Cycle of the Peace Dialogue Table between the Government of Colombia and the National Liberation Army (ELN), President Miguel Díaz-Canel said. The president reiterated on Twitter his country's commitment and willingness to contribute to the success of this dialogue with the common purpose of achieving peace for that sister nation.

Havana, Cuba.- Likewise, the island's Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodríguez, stated on the same social network that Cuba acted and will act discreetly, impartially, and responsibly to find a political solution to the armed conflict in that South American nation.

He reiterated that Cuba, in strict adherence to the condition of the guarantor and alternative venue conferred by the parties, will support and facilitate the reaching of agreements, taking advantage of the historic opportunity presented.

This Tuesday, the dialogue mechanism was installed in Havana, with Norway, Venezuela, Chile, Mexico, and Brazil as guarantors of the process.

Negotiations between the Colombian government and the ELN were interrupted for four years but were resumed in November 2022 in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, and subsequently took place in Mexico. (PL)
