Marti Guides the Steps of Young Cuban Orators

Paula Pilar Gomez Perez was followed on the podium by Maidel de la Rosa Alcina  and Jose Ernesto Rodriguez  Rodriguez.Las Tunas .- The future of oratory of this province in eastern Cuba might still be forged with the inclusion of a category dedicated to the art of public speaking in the My Friend Martí contest organized annually by the Martiana Faculty of the Vladimir Ilich Lenin University.

Promoted in turn by the Martiana Oratory Club of the higher education center, the event awarded the highest oratory award "Martí, man of his time," to pioneer Paula Pilar Gomez Perez, who was followed on the podium by Maidel de la Rosa Alcina and Jose Ernesto Rodriguez Rodriguez.

"Our goal is to also participate in the upcoming Third International Martiana Oratory Meeting 'Trenches of ideas 2012' to be held here in May of this year," said Carlos Alberto Suárez Arcos, a professor who served as a juror and his colleagues Recaredo Rodrígez Bosh and Yumairys Cardo Gamez.

This speech contest was part of the dissimilar activities to celebrate the 159th anniversary of the birth of the National Hero of Cuba, Jose Marti.
