Las Tunas.- Desde este jueves, 10 de junio, se redoblarán los controles a los vehículos de pasajeros que entren o salgan del municipio de Las Tunas, confirmó el martes la Empresa de Transporte de Pasajeros y Cargas Generales (Cardinal).

A partir de la mencionada fecha solo podrán acceder a la ciudad de Las Tunas los vehículos de pasajeros que porten una carta de viaje otorgada por el Consejo de la Administración del municipio de procedencia. Cardinal precisó, que para viajar desde la cuidad de Las Tunas a otro territorio será necesaria la presentación de igual documento, autorizado por el director de la entidad, situada en la calle Joaquín Agüero, próxima a la avenida 2 de Diciembre.

Esta medida, anticipada el lunes en la reunión diaria del Grupo de Trabajo para la Prevención y Control de la Covid-19, se une a las ya vigentes desde meses anteriores y que paralizaron el traslado masivo de personas en las rutas habituales de los transportistas estatales y privados. Se toma, argumentaron, como parte de los pasos para el enfrentamiento al rebrote del nuevo coronavirus, pues la cabecera territorial sigue siendo el epicentro de la pandemia en suelo tunero: su tasa de incidencia de casos positivos por cada 100 mil habitantes en los últimos 15 días duplicaba la media provincial.

Paralelamente, se ampliará la presencia en las vías de acceso a la mayor urbe tunera de los inspectores de Transporte y los efectivos de la Policía Nacional Revolucionaria, a fin de garantizar que los vehículos automotores que circulen hacia los municipios sean los debidamente autorizados. De momento no se reinstalarán los puntos de control sanitario. 

Durante los contactos del Grupo de Gobierno se aclaró que continuará permitido el transporte de carga, siempre y cuando los vehículos dedicados a este propósito porten su documentación en regla; proseguirán, igualmente, los traslados de los trabajadores de Salud y otros prioritarios.
