Beijing.- The head of the Department of International Relations of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Emilio Lozada, ratified in his speech, before this forum, the support of the Communist Party of Cuba, to the General Secretary of the CPC and President of China Xi Jinping's initiative to promote global citizenship.

The embassy added that the event served as an “opportunity to discuss the role of political parties in processes of modernization of each nation and the exchange between civilizations.” Apart from Lozada, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel also expressed support for Xi’s proposal.

During the inauguration of the summit, the Chinese dignitary stressed that tolerance, coexistence, exchanges, and mutual learning among different civilizations play an irreplaceable role in advancing the processes of modernizing mankind.

He advocated that any progressive program contemplates the construction of a better planet for future generations. He also called for respect for the right of each nation to explore its own path towards modernization, without abandoning global cooperation, and solidarity and also guaranteeing equitable access to growth opportunities.

In that regard, he spoke of China’s goal of becoming a modern socialist state by mid-century and the CPC’s commitment to strengthen exchanges with other parties to establish a new model of international relations.

Xi commented that along with this process, China will further open the doors of its market, offer better nationally made products, contribute with its own solutions so as to reduce the North-South gap and seek to speed up the construction of the Belt and Silk Road initiative. (PL)
