The Venezuelan Attorney General, Tarek William Saab, considered an example of brotherhood between two nations, the joint activities program signed by the Public Ministry of Venezuela and Cuba.

Havana, Cuba.- The signature of the document in the framework of the 15th International Criminal Sciences Meeting “is part of the effort to unite the institutions that defend human dignity between Cuba and Venezuela,” Saab commented to Prensa Latina.

The official pointed out that the Program joins the agreement subscribed in 2018 by both entities and materializes the cooperation agreement formalized last February in the context of the International Book Fair.

The agreed actions include holding forums, and seminars in defense of children and adolescents, as well as institutional decency and the fight against corruption, he added.

Regarding this last point, the prosecutor explained that Venezuela has significant experience in prosecuting really shocking cases: “we have managed to uncover at least 26 plots that involve the mismanagement of funds within the oil industry.”

He stressed that beyond the practical action of arresting a person for committing a crime, there must be a pedagogical and preventive framework, before sanctions, and this is achieved with events such as the Criminal Sciences meeting.

He also thanked the Attorney General of the Republic of Cuba, Yamila Peña, for her invitation to the event, which he is attending for the third time.

William Saab pointed out that Cuba and Venezuela are victims of transnational propaganda that distorts reality, “so attending international forums of this level will always be a contribution to express our truth.” (PL)
