The Vietnam-Cuba Trade and Investment Promotion Forum is taking place today at the National Hotel in Havana intending to strengthen economic ties and relations between the two countries.

Havana, Cuba.- Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero participated in the opening ceremony, accompanied by functionaries, specialists, and businessmen from both countries.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment (Mincex), Ricardo Cabrisas, welcomed the attendees and explained details about the relations between the parties.

For the also, co-chairman of the Cuba-Vietnam intergovernmental commission, this meeting is an honor as it is part of the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the visit to Hanoi of the leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro (1926-2016).

He said that this is a brotherhood of nations for more than 60 years, and the current 40th intergovernmental session ratifies such purposes and an as an effective mechanism that now seeks to solidify areas such as economics, trades, science, and technologies, with new actions taken by Havana and Hanoi.

As part of this meeting, the agreements are aimed at health, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and investments in general, and to identify the investment potential between the parties.

He also said that the 41st version of this business forum will be held in the last quarter of this year.

He pointed out that they have already identified new business interests in the very short term in sectors such as agri-food, renewable energy, tourism, and construction.

They will also plan the production and commercialization of rice, coffee, grains, chicken and pork feed, joint ventures, commercial, hotel, and other companies linked to the industry of construction materials, and productive training. (PL)
