PM Manuel Marrero spoke at the plenary session of the Intergovernmental Council of the EEU

Cuba made a serious and responsible political commitment to the development of economic, trade, financial, and cooperation ties with the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), Prime Minister Manuel Marrero on Thursday pointed out.

Sochi, Russia.- The PM on Thursday spoke at the plenary session of the Intergovernmental Council of the EEU and conveyed warm and grateful greetings on behalf of the Cuban people and Government to the organization, which the country joined as an observer on December 11, 2020.

The strengths of each of our nations have enormous potential in joint projects linked to industry, health, biotechnology, tourism, education, digital economy, e-commerce, and energy, among other areas of common interest, the PM argued.

Marrero also stressed that intending to improve the health and welfare of the peoples of the EEU, Cuba proposes to create a multinational alliance in the biopharmaceutical sector to achieve sovereignty in the production of vaccines and drugs.

He further stated that his country’s purpose was to boost a UEE industrial park in the Mariel Special Development Zone, in Cuba, to meet productive linkages leading to the inter-regional integration, to which we aspire in the context of a unipolar world, he concluded. (PL)
