Enrique Nikita Estrada sent an open letter to counteract recent Fito Páez statements

Enrique Nikita Estrada assured that in Cuba, the Government belongs to the people, backing up the country’s Revolution to counteract recent statements by Argentinean singer and composer Fito Paez.

Buenos Aires.- In an open letter, Estrada described Paez’s statements as infamous and noted that it is very difficult to see how people attack his homeland from ignorance.

What authority and elements of judgment do you have to doubt about the veracity of what our history reflects? Paez just has the discourse created by the US intelligence laboratories, repeated ad nauseam by the wrongly-named “Cuban exile” in Miami, Estrada pointed out.

He denounced Paez’s statements that minimize the impact of the US genocidal and cruel economic, commercial, and financial blockade against Cuba for over six decades.

For 30 consecutive years, the overwhelming majority of the United Nations members have voted in favor of the Cuban resolution to end the blockade.

However, during Trump’s term in office (2017-2021), the blockade was tightened with the adoption of 243 economic and financial measures, he said.

To top it off, Trump included Cuba on a shameless and unilateral list of countries that allegedly sponsor terrorism, which makes the rest of the world refuse to trade with the Caribbean nation due to the serious and harsh sanctions against whoever does business with Cuba.

Estrada also claimed that such a decision was made by the “most terrorist State in the globe, the one that invaded, occupied, robbed and destroyed any country it wanted to keep its natural resources or to overthrow governments that are not in line with its hegemonic and interfering policies.” (PL)
