July’s average temperature reached 29.1 degrees Celsius (°C)

The Cuban Meteorological Institute (INSMET) has reportedly confirmed that July was the hottest month for Cuba since 1951.

Havana, Cuba.- July's average temperature reached 29.1 degrees Celsius (°C), placing it as the hottest month reported here for that same period, surpassing 29.04 °C reported in August 2020.

Between July 10 and 17, the average temperature remained above 29.0 °C, reaching a maximum peak of 29.76 °C on July 17, Granma newspaper reported.

Another similar stage of the average temperature values was recorded from July 22 to 29, with a record of 29.54 °C on Sunday, July 23.

Seventeen maximum temperature records were set; the most notable was 39.0 °C in Jucarito, in eastern Granma province, on July 22. (PL)
