Foreign ministers Sameh Shoukry and Bruno Rodríguez

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and his Cuban counterpart, Bruno Rodríguez, reportedly agreed to promote bilateral relations and talked about the upcoming Summit of the Group of 77 (G-77) plus China to be held in Havana.

Cairo.- Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ahmed Abu Zaid said in a press release that both officials highlighted the state of relations between the two countries during a telephone call.

Shoukry expressed Egypt’s desire to boost economic and commercial relations with Cuba.

He also praised the coordination with Cuba in international multilateral forums and the efforts done by the Cuban presidency in the G-77 plus China.

According to the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rodríguez expressed his country’s gratitude for the remarkable development of relations between Havana and Cairo.

During the telephone call, the parties highlighted the growing relations between the two nations and Egypt’s desire to participate in the G-77 plus China summit, scheduled for September 15-16, the press release stated. (PL)
