The final day of the Nature Tourism Workshop, which meets in the eastern Cuban town of the Second Front, ends today with the exchange of experiences on how to make more comprehensive and dynamic tourism service on this island.

In addition to proposals for new routes and circuits that include sites of natural, historical and cultural attraction, the event seeks to update the main tour operators and recipient entities of the country on the latest developments in flagship sites dedicated to ecotourism on the island, told Prensa Latina of the head of promotion of the Cubanacan group, Miguel Bruguera.

In this case are the western Las Terrazas (Pinar del Río) and Cienaga de Zapata (Matanzas) as well as the eastern Marea del Portillo (Granma) and Segundo Frente (Santiago de Cuba), just to mention some of them.

For the latter, located 60 kilometers from the provincial capital Santiago de Cuba, attractive excursions were designed, such as the so-called Sendero a la Loma de Micara (Path to the Micara Hill), from where visitors can learn about historical events related to the actions of the guerrilla heroic deed whose victory led to the victorious Cuban Revolution in 1959.

There is also the Safari to La Mensura, a place of exceptional beauty thanks to its two waterfalls of 85 and 127 meters of vertical fall respectively, visits to agro-ecological farms and horseback rides to places of historical and cultural interest.

Likewise, attendees exchange about the preparations already taking place in the Cienaga de Zapata, the largest wetland in the insular Caribbean, as host territory of the event Photo al Vuelo 2019 to be held in February and which pays special attention to tourists who prefer bird watching and photography.

The Nature Tourism Workshop, which began on the 20th in Cienaga de Zapata, will end in eastern Santiago de Cuba and is organized by the Cubanacán Group and the Ecotur Travel Agency.
