Cuban jurists celebrates their National Day on June 8.

Every June 8, Jurist's Day is celebrated in Cuba, the date on which Ignacio Agramonte defended his thesis for a Law Degree, in the year 1865.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Currently, this is a day of celebration for the members of the National Union of Jurists of Cuba (UNJC), which brings together all legal professionals in the country.

In Las Tunas, the organization seeks to create cooperation alliances with others such as the Union of Journalists and the Union of Historians of Cuba, for the delivery of conferences related to legal issues that are unknown in many of our institutions.

Sergio Vargas EsperanceSergio Vargas Esperance, president of the UNJC in the province, states that "these alliances have the specific objective of promoting the legal culture of society; we are talking about learning that is essential at present, and more so in a process of creation of regulations as intense and complex as Cuba has never experienced before.

"No country in the world, without being accompanied by this harmonious work, can then think of promoting legal culture, and without there will be no awareness or conscious compliance with the rules."

The support of the people is paramount throughout this period of legal transformation that the Island is experiencing because otherwise, everything that the country's leadership seeks to promote and broaden the range of rights and duties for citizens would be impossible.

To greet the date, a group of activities was scheduled, as support for health institutions, such as the Calixto Sarduy Arcia psycho-pedagogical center. "Blood donations have also been made and the clarification of doubts related to the Family Code continues."

Working quickly to achieve a higher level of social justice, as well as the correct implementation of the laws in our country, are some of the premises that guide the work of jurists in Las Tunas, which they ratify this June 8.
