Performance of the Provincial Concert Band as part of the Las Tunas Culture Day 2022

With the tribute to Major General Vicente García González, in the park where his marble statue is located, the Cultural Day began in Las Tunas, which will last until September 30.

The gala had the artistic direction of Anais Ray Haynes and the conduction of Yuly Cedeño, to intertwine the performances of the Provincial Concert Band, the soloists Lays Rodríguez and Jorge Orlando, and the replicated lyrics of writer Argel Fernández Granados in his letter of love to the city of 2019.

It was followed by the inauguration of a bibliographic exhibition in the José Martí provincial library and the Peña de la Luz, in the José Martí Plaza, to match up a program that combines all art expressions with history in various institutions and alternative sites.

Stand out the Cantata To my City, from the trova; the space Reborn from my Ashes, in remembrance of the city fire on September 26, 1876; also a talk about its founding, the History and Rebellion national event that involves the Plazas of the Revolution and the closing ceremony with the spectacle I owe myself to you, my beloved city.

The celebration is motivated by the 146th anniversaries of the attack and burning of Las Tunas, of the foundation of the city, the 50th of the Nueva Trova, and the centenary of Jesús Orta Ruiz, the Indio Naborí.
