Young artists also want to be part of the processes that involve decisions as a country and, therefore, this March 26, beyond a slogan or something mechanical, they know they are participants in an event that can bring transformations from the point of view of new popular artists.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Ana Margarita Arada Clavería, president of the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS) in the province, told 26: "When we vote we exercise a right and we must be aware of it. The participation of the people is something that characterizes this action since its genesis and implies the commitment first to nominate and, then, to elect those who represent us.

"In addition, it is remarkable the number of young people proposed, even though several are members of our organization, which means not only a recognition of their worth but the possibility of contributing ideas from the new vanguard of Cuban intellectuality, from a deep analysis and a cultural matrix that allows us to chart a better future as a country."

Samuel MartellSamuel Martell, with the lyricism that characterizes him as a poet, and interpreter of peasant and Cuban music, in general, comments: "This is a democratic process where the people have power. As an artist, I have always focused on growing and using art to heal the soul; despite the vicissitudes, I have left my heart on stage.

"I want to be part of a world where one of its fundamental objectives is to achieve fraternity in addition, respect. Several generations have colored dreams, for example, in homes of children without family shelter or grandparents' homes; we have sung to the patriotic symbols and attributes; we honor with verses the peasant during Cucalambeana Day and in other spaces.Yuris Eduardo Bueno

"However, social media have separated the paths into meaningless sides, but we as artists reach everyone, with the certainty that a clean and transparent heart produces miracles."

Art instructor Yuris Eduardo Bueno Yero, leader of the group D'Ceos Teatro, who has promoted his passion for living statues in the capital city and holds, among other awards, the Abel Santamaría Cuadrado Decoration, says: "Choosing, from the neighborhood, those people who represent us is a way to fight for a better Cuba. They know our concerns and it is good to have their support to solve problems that affect us all, from the grassroots.

"We, from our trench which is art, give our best to contribute our grain of sand to a better society. Now we choose the best and most capable, waiting for them to wisely fulfill their mission. Our vote matters."
