Fidel's centenary was celebrated in "Cantarrana."

As part of the celebrations for the centennial of Fidel's birth and the 65th anniversary of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC), the community of Cantarrana hosted a cultural event, filled with talent, joy, and interaction with the local population.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- The event, hosted by experienced actors Elizabeth Borrero and Luis Andrés Till, featured professional and amateur artists in a diverse group. The younger generations particularly stood out with impressive performances, such as that of the teenage singer Reikel González Licea, who, dressed in a guayabera and with the stage presence of an established artist, amazed the audience and encouraged the people to dance the traditional Cuban son rhythm.

Nine-year-old Emily Guerra García also touched hearts. Her face has graced platforms like the Zabaleando project, and this time she shared her melodious rendition of the song "Cabalgando con Fidel" (Riding with Fidel).

Experienced artists also received a warm welcome. This was the case with writer Argel Fernández Granado, whose soul was as pure as the white guayabera he wore, who gifted verses to the neighborhood residents.

The Maestro Ramón Carlos Leyva, director of the Isaac Nicola guitar orchestra and the Olimpo rock group, had to perform more songs than scheduled at the request of a special audience: our children. There, with his electric guitar, this musician demonstrated that art, when it is valuable, finds its way regardless of genre or audience.

The young people of Nueva Generación, with their comparsa rhythm, also enlivened the space; even the voice of the announcer Jorge Carbonell resonated in those parts where so many artists have grown up, like the members of the Estrella de Oriente Organ.

Thus, the good work to which Fidel called us and the purpose of safeguarding our culture, which UNEAC also cherishes, found a sincere embrace in "Cantarrana."
