The Cinemazul Film Appreciation Festival will take place from March 24 to 26

As a result of the epidemiological situation, the cultural institutions of the province are looking for alternatives to continue their work, but adapted to the circumstances, with an emphasis on work on social media.

The Ultrasonido Festival will take place with the leading role of the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS) and Radio Victoria stationLas Tunas, Cuba.- The program of events is readjusted and the activities acquire other nuances, based on prevention. The Day for the Art Instructor, which will take place from the 15th to the 18th of this month, is one of those cases. Anais Ray, on behalf of the Provincial Center of Cultural Centers (CPCC), said that the program is aimed at recognizing the work of protagonists of that union, awarding the Olga Alonso Provincial Prize and promoting it through different media.

According to her, the work of founders and those most prominent affiliates will have great visibility in cyberspace, base radio stations and other platforms, in addition to paying tribute to those who are no longer physically but left traces.

Likewise, on the 18th, the Art Instructor Day, will be the opening of its Provincial Hall, among other activities. In March, the José Martí Art Instructors Brigade (BJM) will award the Escaramujo Prize, which celebrates the best of its creation, in the different artistic expressions, and audiovisuals are added this time.

José Martí Provincial Library, in Las TunasIn February (days 26 and 27), there will also be the Culture Day of the municipality of Colombia and the Provincial Meeting of Literary Workshops. In relation to this last event, Ray informed that it will be dedicated to the 48th anniversary of the Cucalambé Literary Workshop, belonging to the Tomasa Varona provincial cultural center.

Each municipality of Las Tunas has its own workshop, with Colombia and Manatí standing out. Interviews and dissemination of texts on the Internet are among the initiatives on the agenda.

Regarding the Cinemazul Film Appreciation Festival, at the municipal level, which will take place from March 24 to 26, Yunicelia Zamora Mercantete, a specialist from the Provincial Cinema Directorate, announced that this time there will only be three film debates per territory, for a total of 24 films in projection, about Latin American cinema.

The movies approach topics such as history and dance. Among the films that will be on debate will be Inocencia (by director Alejandro Gil), which addresses the murder of the eight medical students, and Yuli (by director Icías Bollaín), inspired by the life and work of the Cuban dancer Carlos Acosta.

The El Cucalambé professional art school (EPA), also in March, plans to hold Espacio en Movimiento, which is open to all choreographers in the province, whether they are professionals or not. Despite the fact that the pandemic does not allow this time to include the participation of representatives from other Cuban regions, the intention to defend dance is plausible and alternatives are being sought to guarantee its quality.

In the third month of the year, the Majibacoa Culture Day and the Ultrasonido Festival will also take place, the latter with the leading role of the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS) and Radio Victoria station.

The Provincial Committee of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC), the Provincial Directorate of Culture and its municipal counterpart, the El Cucalambé Ibero-American Center for the Décima, the José Martí provincial library, the Provincial Council of Plastic Arts (CPAP) and the Provincial Council of Performing Arts, also have programming proposals, including virtual exhibitions, promotional audiovisual capsules, radio programs and others.
