Creativity, novelty in the use of resources, and durability of the tradition distinguish the 129 works registered in the Ultrasonido National Radio Festival Online, which from April 6 to 9 will seek an approach to the performance in this media, to the testimony genre and the humorous programs.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Intending to recognize the work in the last year, marked by the COVID-19 pandemic, the event has the participation of nine provinces: Pinar del Río, Havana, Artemisa, Mayabeque, Villa Clara, Camagüey, Santiago de Cuba, Guantánamo, and the headquarters, which compete in three modalities: varied programs (58), news section (67 journalistic works) and lectures (four investigations).

Yulia Márquez Pérez, deputy director of the Radio System in Las Tunas, said that this fourth edition is another opportunity to share experiences and recognize the artistic excellence of the works, together with the performance of young and experienced creators.

At the opening conference, Albert Blanco Zayas, a member of the jury in the news section, appreciated that the sample received is distinguished by references of good journalism and ingenuity within the profession.

"We will recognize those who propose human stories, historical works, and those who best told the horror of the pandemic in the last year, and other topics of daily life, such as the monetary ordering. Perhaps now, the winners are not so young, but professionals who have not stopped being young in their creation, both in traditional Radio and hypermedia journalism,” advanced the renowned reporter and sports commentator.

Yannier Leyva Valdemira, a member of the Radio Victoria Methodological Department and a jury in the miscellaneous section, said that the evaluated papers, all from local stations, serve as a starting point for future research and are about how to do Radio in times of crisis, and good practices to reach audiences from Psychology.

Sponsored by the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS) and the Provincial Radio Directorate, Ultrasonido has an official site: www.ultrasonido.cubava.cu, while several social media such as Facebook (Radio Victoria provincial radio station and Tiempo21Cuba), Instagram, and YouTube will offer constant updating around the event, at the same time that will be scenarios for debate and reflection.

The Radio Festival Online also has its own radio program, which during the days of the contest will broadcast exchanges referring to the work in this media and, on the closing day, the award ceremony.
