The 6th International Forum of Oratory “Pensamiento Martiano y Latinoamericano” (Martí's and Latin American Thought) opened its doors in Las Tunas with participants from Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela, Russia, and Cuba.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Recognized as the most important of its kind on the island and one of the most notable in the Americas, the event features the 6th International Oratory Contest "Trincheras de Ideas" (Trenches of Ideas), in addition to workshops, panels, and lectures and the contest to award a medal to the best speaker, a competition organized every two years at University of Las Tunas.

The forum invited the participants to delve into the work and the fiery emancipatory speech, eloquence, and humanist ideas of José Martí Pérez on the 129th anniversary of his fall in combat, given the current complex socioeconomic situation in Latin America. (ACN)
