Cooperation agreements were signed between the university and and the Provincial Directorate of Technical and Agricultural Services (Gelma in Spanish), as well as with the Directorate of Justice

The 29th anniversary of the University of Las Tunas (ULT in Spanish) was celebrated on May 15, aware of its leaders and faculty of the promising harvest in professional training and their contribution to local development. These achievements were echoed in the political-cultural gala that crowned the celebration program for the date.

Doctor of Sciences José Ignacio Reyes González received the Carlos J. Finlay Order.Las Tunas.- At the event, the institution presented the Rector's Awards and, in particular, the Carlos J. Finlay Order, awarded by the Council of State to national and foreign personalities and institutions, which here went to Doctor of Sciences José Ignacio Reyes González.

Among the 55 categories that received the award, the following stood out: Doctor of Science Aleida Best Rivero, Anniel Echavarría, head of Services, and the Faculty of Social and Humanistic Sciences. In addition, the young teacher Alina Guerra Valdivia was recognized as the most integral teacher.

Aliesky Caballero González, professor and dean of the multi-awarded faculty at the event, explained that "the main results that allow us this success are based on the achievements of the teachers during the year 2023, such as being the best faculty in a comprehensive manner for their merits in postgraduate studies, university extension and the use of information and communication technologies, thanks to the sacrifice of each teacher."

Before the meeting, framework cooperation agreements were signed between the university and the Provincial Directorate of Technical and Agricultural Services (Gelma in Spanish) and with the Directorate of Justice in the territory, represented by their directors and the ULT rector.
