The National Accreditation Board (JAN) re-valuates Laas Tunas University.

This week, experts from the National Accreditation Board (JAN) are at the University of Las Tunas (ULT) to finalize the external re-evaluation of the institution, a challenge in which the university aims to surpass the results that earned it accreditation in 2019.

Las Tunas, Cuba.– Working sessions are underway in committees, dedicated to the presentation and detailed analysis of the Self-Evaluation Report. According to reports, a comprehensive examination of the strengths and weaknesses identified in key dimensions has been conducted, including education, research, human resources, infrastructure, social impact, institutional context, and the university's global relevance.

Among its strengths, ULT boasts seven municipal university centers (one in each district), and the evaluation committee will visit those in Jobabo and "Jesús Menéndez". They will also visit communities in Las Tunas to assess the impact of the outreach projects being implemented.

The day before, the ULTCuba Social Observatory (Osult) was presented to the Board's experts. During the presentation, special emphasis was placed on the Ceja@Ceja forum, conceived as a space for open and critical debate on highly sensitive and controversial issues.

In the days leading up to this process, ULT administrators have highlighted their commitment to ensuring "efficient and transparent management through rigorous planning, execution, and control of material and financial resources." This process is supported by a certified accounting system that optimizes every action.

"This responsible management strengthens our infrastructure, providing comfort and convenience to the university community, and consolidates the foundation for the continued development of academics, research, and community engagement."
