An investment process is executed at the Dr. Ernesto Guevara General Teaching Hospital.

The medical oxygen plant at the Ernesto Guevara de la Serna Hospital, the main health facility in Las Tunas, is in the start-up phase.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- The work, started last year, will offer a total guarantee to take the product directly to the services that demand it, such as the Intensive Care rooms, said Yonersis Álvarez Otaño, the administrator of the health care center, and added that for its start-up it is only necessary to finish some adjustments that are now being made to the electrical system.

To guarantee the safety of the facility, she pointed out, it is necessary to build a parking area for bicycles and electric motorcycles at the required distance, another of the investments being made at the "Guevara" for the use of the workers and other personnel who come to the hospital.

The construction program, which improves several areas, is financed with more than four million pesos and includes the capital repair of the Anatomical Pathology service, which is 65 percent complete.

The work in this area includes the plumbing and electrical networks, the floor, the installation of the false ceiling and the veneer of three plateaus, and the same number of bathrooms.

Likewise, the roofs of the delivery and surgery rooms, the food storage area, and the Guard Corps are being restored; these actions, together with the previous ones, should be ready between August and September, Álvarez Otaño said.

In the "Mártires de Las Tunas", the main health center for pediatric patients in the province, restoration work is also being carried out, to leave the ward and maternity areas as new.
